Fix Kali Linux Login Loop
This video shows how to quickly fix the login screen loop in the Kali Linux. The fix is very easy: While at the login screen press Ctrl+Alt+F1 or Ctrl+Alt+F2 to open terminal after that type the username and password in terminal.
Now follow commands as below
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get upgrade
- dpkg –configure -a
- sudo apt-get install cinnamon-control-center-data
- gdm3 –version
- apt-get –reinstall install gdm3
- apt-get –reinstall install gnome
- apt-get –reinstall install gnome-shell
- dpkg-reconfigure gdm3
- reboot

My screen is blinking after i log in to the OS, it is becoming black then the window then again black and it goes on, I couldn’t figure it out

Do all these updating and upgrading steps require an internet connection? And if yes then how do i connect to an internet connection when i am in this mode?

The command is ,
apt-get –reinstall install gene
Try this. It will work.!
Gene is not a package name
-reinstall dont work in linux
I have no internet connection.. even WITH ethernet.
Just do clean one and transfer files.dont waste your time !

Updated just did the cinnamon and it works
after doing above steps the problem is not solved. Can you please give me suggestion do solve this problem of infinite looping .
“No space left on device” after the sudo apt-get update
i also had this issue due to space issue. followed this cleaned as suggested https://github.com/charchitd/kali-storage-clean
Space issue for me aswell. After cleaning, login works normally.
